What is an Expert? An expert is a person with extensive knowledge and/or ability based on research, experience or occupation in their field. It is said that it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert in any field but I believe for a mechanic that those hours are doubled to obtain that type of mastery. From the words of Albert Einstein, “Any fool can know. The point is to understand.” When a mechanic truly understands how each system works and how they all work together, an expert mechanic is born.
There are many systems working in a motor vehicle. These systems are regularly updated by manufacturers to become more efficient or provide extensive features each year. Regular education and new tools are required to stay up to date with regularly changing technology.

A good truck mechanic requires extensive knowledge of diesel engines, gas engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, preventative maintenance as well as the ability to ensure safety and performance of all the vehicles they work on. These mechanics play an essential role for the construction, municipalities, and anything that requires a truck for transport.
